I recently saw The Story Nymph do a post where she answers a bookish ‘A-Z’ survey (originally initiated by Perpetual Page-Turner) and I thought it would be a fun post idea to answer the questions myself. Lets get into it shall we? Hope you enjoy!
Author youโve read the most books from:
I was 99% sure on who my most read author was from memory but I had to double check my reading spreadsheet to make sure I was 100% sure… my most read author is Paige Toon. I have read 8 books of hers so far – she is a romance author.
Best sequel ever:
I have so many series that I am currently in the middle of that it’s getting a little out of hand but my goal for this year is to try and get the number down. My favourite sequel currently is probably Heartless by Elsie Silver.
Currently Reading:
Shady Hollow by Juneau Black and My Rock Star Neighbor by Kathy Strobos.
Drink of choice while reading:
To be honest, the only drink I have near me the majority of the time is my Stanley Cup full of squash. Sometimes I will switch it up and have a can of Coke if we have them in the house.
E-reader or Physical Book?
Predominantly I read physical books but I have been trying to read more on my kindle. I don’t know why but I gravitate more towards reading a physical book but I have been trying to make more of an effort to use my e-reader this year.
Fictional character you probably would have actually dated in high school:
I think it would probably be Nathan from Dungeons and Drama by Kristy Boyce. I’ve always been into nerdy boys.
Glad you gave this book a chance:
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. I’d never read an epic romantasy book before this one so wasn’t sure it was going to be for me… but I’m glad I read it as I fully understand the hype surrounding it!
Hidden gem book:
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I’d only read Daisy Jones from her before and loved it but wasn’t sure whether that love would continue into this book but I devoured it! My sister kept telling me to read it but I kept putting it off. One day I saw it in a charity shop and thought why not. Definitely a hidden gem for me–the story and the writing was amazing.
Important moment in your reading life:
I’d probably say when I discovered the book community over on Instagram. I get to look at pretty pictures of books, read people’s reviews and discover new books. I don’t interact/post a lot on there but I enjoy going on and having a scroll. The book community is also what made me want to start my book blog.
Just finished:
Delicious in Dungeon Vol 5 by Ryoko Kui (manga). I had to read something quick to get over the fact that I sadly DNF’d Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree after trying to read it for 2 weeks…
Kinds of books you wonโt read:
I have tried reading a wide variety of genres over the years but it has made me realise that Classics and Dark Romances are not for me. I don’t typically read Sci-Fi either but depending on the book I may give it a go.
Longest book youโve read:
I had to double check my spreadsheet again for this one but the longest book I’ve read coming in at 623 pages is Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros.
Major book hangover because of:
Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. I had a book hangover after reading Fourth Wing but now I’m in one again from reading Iron Flame. I’m so emotionally invested in the story and characters at this point that I want to read Onyx Storm so bad but am putting off due to not knowing when the next release is.
Number of bookcases you own:
I currently own 3 bookcases. I have 2 at my moms house and one at my boyfriends house. My dream is to have my own wall of bookshelves in my own home one day.
One book you have read multiple times:
I actually don’t re-read books… I’m not really sure why but I think it’s because I always like to discover new ones and am worried that I won’t love the book as much as the first time I read it.
Preferred place to read:
I absolutely love to read in the comfort of my bed but will read on a sofa/couch as well. When the weather is nice, I do sometimes try to read outside in the garden as well.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book youโve read:
I’m terrible for loving a quote in a book at the time I’m reading it but forgetting to write it down… There are probably so many I could write for this answer but I’ve never thought to make a note of them…
Reading regret:
I think I would say the fact that I only started reading again back in 2020… I used to love reading as a child but ended up not reading AT ALL through my teens to the start of my early 20’s. I was 23 when I started reading again.
Series you started and need to finish (all books are out in series):
The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. I’m ashamed to admit I’ve only read the first book and that was back in 2021. I love the Twilight films so I don’t know why I keep putting them off…
Three of your all-time favourite books:
It was hard to choose as there a few on my list but I’d probably say Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson and Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
Unapologetic fangirl for:
At the moment it would be Elsie Silver. I absolutely devoured her Chestnut Springs series and can’t wait to read her other book series.
Very excited for this release more than all the others:
I’m indecisive when it comes to what releases I’m more excited for as I’m excited for a lot but here are two releases [1 fiction & 1 nonfiction] I’m most looking forward to: The Princess Knight by Cait Jacobs (expected to release on 23rd October 2025) and Last Rites by Ozzy Osbourne (expected to release on 7th October 2025) — two very different genres!
Worst bookish habit:
Prioritising a new purchase and reading that book before all the others I have had on my TBR cart for far too long…
X marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
The 27th book on my bookshelves is Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Your latest book purchase:
The last physical book I purchased was Enchanted to Meet You by Cara Stout. The last eBook I purchased was The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY too late):
I can honestly say that I love my sleep too much to stay up late reading… I’ve read books in one sitting before from morning until early evening but I’m normally too tired to stay up late reading.
