Worst Wingman Ever by Abby Jimenez | Book Review

Book Synopsis:

Book Review

After reading a previous novella from Abby Jimenez and really enjoying it, I thought I would give this one a go. Because I have Amazon Prime, the eBook is included, so I didnโ€™t have to pay for it. Win, win! This review is going to be quite short as it has similar vibes to the her other novella I have already reviewed.

The bookโ€™s short length makes the romance feel very insta-loveyโ€”a trope I donโ€™t usually enjoyโ€”but the execution works well for the needs of the plot. The main characters both held my interest from beginning to end but I didn’t feel like they connected as much together as the ones in her previous story. It was still enjoyable nonetheless.

The meet-cute is definitely cute and the MMC is the sweetest but as mentioned, it’s quite insta-lovey. The letters they leave for each other is adorable and build up nicely to the ending.

Friendly trigger warning reminder that this story involves the death of a grandparent in a hospice setting. Since the book is so short, it handles this aspect well without being overbearing. Jimenez was able to put so much depth into such a short story and it had me in my feels.

Overall, this was a lovely, fast-paced, and heartfelt read. If you’re looking for a quick romance palate cleanser with a wholesome meet-cute then I’d definitely suggest giving this one a read. After this, Iโ€™m definitely intrigued to try a full-length novel by Abby Jimenez. I’m just not sure which one…

Rating: 4 out of 5.
