Bram Stoker’s 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂 | Audiobook Review

Book Synopsis:

Book Review

This is my second time attempting to read Dracula. The first time around, I really struggled with the writing style, as you’d expect from a classic, and found it difficult to get into the story. So, when I heard that a full-cast audiobook was being released, I decided to give it another try. I’m SO glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it! For this review, I’ll be focusing more on the audiobook itself rather than the story. My rating breakdown is at the bottom of the post.

This audiobook features a full cast of narrators, complete with sound effects and music, and I absolutely loved it! This is the second time I’ve listened to an audiobook like this, but I was completely immersed in the experience. I actually listened to the entire thing in one sitting because I was enjoying it THAT much!

Another thing that added to my enjoyment was recognising so many of the actors voicing the characters. The majority of them delivered fantastic performances and really brought the story to life. Unfortunately, though, I wasn’t quite as keen on the actor portraying Arthur. Compared to the rest of the cast, his performance felt a little lacklustre to me. This ultimately brought my overall audiobook rating down by half a star. That’s not to say the actor did a bad job, but his performance just didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

If you’re a fan of any of the actors and are thinking about reading Dracula for the first time, or even revisiting the story, I HIGHLY recommend giving this audiobook a listen! I had such a fun time with it, and listening to it through my headphones with the volume turned all the way up made the whole experience even better. It was an absolute WILD ride, and I’m so glad I gave Dracula a second chance!
