Jim Henson’s: Labyrinth Book Tag

Jim Henson’s: Labyrinth Book Tag

The Labyrinth: A book or character that isnโ€™t straightforward
โ€œThings arenโ€™t always what they seem in this place.โ€

Labyrinth by Jim Henson

Yes, I know this is a cop out choice but I really struggled to find a book that I thought would fit with this prompt… I read this book a couple of years ago and the whole premise of the story isn’t straightforward and plus she does have to navigate through a labyrinth. (I promise this is the only one I cheated on)

Sarah: A book that features a quest
โ€œThrough dangers untold. And hardships unnumbered. I have fought my way here to the castle, beyond the goblin city, to take back the child that you have stolen.โ€

The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Lord of the Rings trilogy focuses on one main quest, a fellowship of characters off to destroy the One Ring. It is a huge adventure with many characters and lots of action.

The Goblin King: An interesting villain
โ€œI move the stars for no one.โ€

Regina Rising by Wendy Toliver

Regina is a villain in the Once Upon a Time TV series and I absolutely love her. She ends up being one of my favourite characters! This book allows us to see more of her backstory and the reasons for why she ends up becoming the way she does. I found her backstory really interesting.

The Worm: A book that feels cheerful or welcoming
โ€œCome inside and meet the missus.โ€

Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree

I absolutely loved this book! The low stakes, cosy vibes with great characters was a win win for me. I really liked the premise of the book and who doesn’t feel welcome when going into a quaint little coffee shop?

Hoggle: A gruff character with a soft heart
Sarah: โ€œYouโ€™re horrible!โ€
Hoggle: โ€œNo, I ainโ€™t. Iโ€™m Hoggle.โ€

Heartless by Elsie Silver

Cade hides a soft heart beneath his gruff exterior, shaped by past heartbreak and family responsibilities. As the story unfolds, his vulnerable side emerges through his interactions with Willa and his son, Luke.

Ludo: A loyal character
โ€œLudo friend.โ€

Shady Hollow by Juneau Black

Lenore (a raven) is incredibly loyal throughout this book — looking out for her friend Vixen when they put themselves in danger, helping them with tips for solving the case, no gossiping, and getting help when it is needed.

Sir Didymus- A book with a brave character
“Then I shall fight anyone anywhere, any place, anytime!โ€

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros

Violet for me seems much braver in Iron Flame than she does in Fourth Wing. She possesses a strong will and shows courageous leadership, grappling with major revelations about the war and the history of the Empyrean. She also doesn’t shy away from getting headfirst into a battle!

โ€œShould you need usโ€ฆโ€: A book with found family

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

The main characters, a group of teenagers with special abilities, form deep and essential familial bonds with each other and their FBI handlers, despite their lack of biological relation.ย I really enjoyed this book and like how the ‘found family’ trope is written.

If you havenโ€™t seen Labyrinth, then you need to go watch it right now!
